All photographs were taken within Old Hall Gardens, and the following birds are featured below:

Blackbird, Dunnock, Greenfinch, Jackdaw, Mallard drake and duck, Nuthatch, Robin, Swallow, Woodpigeon, Wren

You will notice a few nesting boxes that have been put up in the gardens. In the autumn, we take these down to clean them. Sadly, this year we found that the blue tits had clearly used one of the boxes to build their nest but two eggs had been abandoned unhatched, and there was also a skeleton of a baby blue tit. Something must have befallen the parent birds – which just goes to show what a precarious life they lead!
